Unit 2 Library
I choose to check out a document published by the US Small Business Administration titled "A Status Report to Congress: Statistical Information on Women in Business."
If I am being honest, I am not much of a fan of libraries. As much respect as I have for them, their resources, and what they have to offer, I find myself not spending much of my time in them. I see the library particularly to be stressful for me when it comes to studying. Many people find the quietness to be peaceful, or the atmosphere to put them in a better mindset for studying, but I find it to be opposite. The quietness distracts me more, because I focus more on the little things happening around me, or the constant movement of others, which is more distracting. I do find the library useful when it comes to research and information. I also do enjoy utilizing Bird when it comes to group projects. The study rooms available for students to rent become very helpful for collaboration, or in my case, for bio tutoring to improve grades. I also appreciate Bird's CLASS center, seeing I spent the better half of my first semester here utilizing those opportunities to improve my studies. Although I probably sound like I am contradicting myself, I do see the beauty that Bird Library, as well as many other libraries, have to offer, I can't use the library itself for independent studies. I think the group opportunities and information that Bird has to offer is incredible, and I love using those to my academic advantage. And as always, who doesn't love Page's Cafe for some morning coffee and a breakfast sandwich?!
