Abstract/Pitch

 

I sent the graphic above to my friend Parker.  Parker stated, "I think the pitch has potential, but should go into deeper detail to come across what your point is."  I received positive feedback, yet criticism which I think is important when it comes to ideas.  Now I have ideas to work off of on how to make my ideas better and also promote the use of social media when it comes to small businesses.

Things I Eat throughout my day.   Started off my morning strong with an omelet!  On days when I have my classes until 5:30, I try to eat a big breakfast.   Then I had a break between classes, so my friend Kayla and I grabbed some Dunkin.   I also grabbed some Halal Shack in between my classes I then came home and my roommate had made a pasta dish for dinner! For this Unit 3 Portfolio I collaborated with my classmate, Emma Berkowitz, to create a podcast!  In our podcast you can listen to us discuss the positives and negatives of social media, and social media as a whole.  We discuss our own personal experiences with media, the effects media has on mental health, the outcome it has on teenagers, and how social media can impact a business.  We hope you enjoy it!

Unit #1 Draft

Source 1: A Pencil Shop, for Texting the Old-Fashioned Way      The article that was analyzed was the New York Times article “A Pencil Shop, for Texting the Old-Fashioned Way,” written by Molly Young. The article was published in 2015, a source used as not only entertainment but with an educational factor.  She is also trying to show the uniqueness a pencil brings, compared to other writing utensils like a pen. The author's project in this article is to show the historical use of the pencil, but also how over time pencils aren’t as big of a use anymore.  The author compares the use of a pencil to a fax machine, and how both have use but now there are things seen as “better.” When the pencil first came about, it was extraordinary, but over time people do not view the pencil as such.
